This painting is titled “Potato Eaters”.
The painting shows in the foreground five peasants  sitting around a table.
They are eating potatoes.
The peasants’ faces are serious and sad
because they are very poor people.
In the background  the painting shows
the humble peasants’ home.
It’s a dark painting with a very strong light
in the middle.

This is one of  Van Gogh  Self-Portraits.
He’s wearing a grey felt hat and a blue jacket.
It was  painted in Paris in 1887.
In this painting the brushstrokes, typical of the impressionist  Art, are quite visible.

The Starry Night
There is the night sky filled with swirling
clouds, shiny stars, planets  and
a bright moon.
In the foreground the Cypresses
look like flames;
in the background you can see a small village
 among the hills

“Miners’ wives carrying sacks of coal”
This watercolour is one of the images
about  human condition.
They are women working in a coal mine.
In the foreground there are women
bent under the heavy weight; a snowy
landscape in the background

In “The Bedroom at Arles” Van Gogh
painted his own room in Arles (where for
some time he lived with Gauguin,
another famous impressionist  painter).
A big wood bed is on the right, next to the
door.
Another door is opposite the bed.
Behind the bed there’s a window.
In the bedroom there are two chairs:
one under the window and one in front of
the door.
The perspective  of this painting
is notable (e.g. look at the floor, and at the paintings on the wall).
